Sencorp, Inc., a manufacturer of thermoforming and sealing machines designed for consumer, medical, electronics, and pharmaceutical packaging, and White Systems, the originator of automated carousel type storage and retrieval technology for manufacturing plants, warehouses, and distribution centers, are pleased to announce the combination of the two industry-leading companies under a newly organized holding company, SWS/TEK, LLC.
In early 2009, White's Kenilworth, New Jersey manufacturing operation was relocated to Sencorp's modern 155,000 square foot facility in Hyannis, Massachusetts. "Unquestionably, the move improved efficiency." says Brian Urban, President and CEO of Sencorp and White. The teaming of White and Sencorp provides significant operational benefits and cross-selling opportunities to both companies. Like Sencorp, White is an industry leading brand recognized for quality and durability." Urban explained, "In order to leverage over sixty years of industry experience, White will maintain a technical support center in New Jersey".
Sencorp and White's sales forces have already identified a number of applications where Sencorp/White products provide solutions for a customer's material handling and packaging problems. The medical device, pharmaceutical, and electronics industries extensively utilize Sencorp/White machines to package, inventory, and manage high-value, sensitive parts. For example, in the production of medical devices like blood bags, tissue samples, or implantable devices, White clean room carousels provide a controlled environment for storing and transferring packaging materials used by Sencorp heat sealers. "With over fifteen years of medical device packaging experience, we understand FDA requirements and the differing needs between sterile and non-sterile processes in clean-room operations. We are encouraged that we can provide increased value to our customers with Sencorp and White products," comments Sencorp's Senior Product Specialist, CeraTek Sealers, Kent Hevenor.
White's International Sales Manager, Dave Simon, explains, "Carousels provide medical device manufacturers value in both new construction as well as expansion of existing facilities." Simon continues, "There are a large number of applications in medical device manufacturing for White carousels used for clean-room material part storage and inventory management, as well as semi-custom ‘dirty-to-clean' material transfer systems. This specially designed vertical is located adjacent to the clean room and used as both a portal, eliminating cross-zone contamination, and as a buffering storage device conserving space".
Customers will benefit from combined field service support provided by technicians strategically located through the United States. Sencorp/White services include Predictive and Preventative maintenance programs, machine upgrades, regularly scheduled maintenance and operator training sessions, and retrofit kits, in addition to existing industry-leading OEM parts availability and help-desk support. "This is an exciting time," comments Chris Lynch, Customer Satisfaction Manager at Sencorp. "Customers are already providing positive feedback about Sencorp/White field service technicians located throughout North America. We now provide the widest ranging customer service support in the industry."
