Mr. McEwen served as president of MHEDA in 1966 and the National Association of Wholesalers (NAW) in 1976. He was very committed to the concerns of the business community and was a member of both the Philadelphia World Affairs Council and the Pennsylvania State Chamber of Commerce, where he testified before Congress on product liability reform. He was an avid world traveler, visiting more than 140 countries, and won numerous national awards for his collection
of antique automobiles. Mr. McEwen is survived by three children: Joseph, Jacqueline and Susan, as well as eight grandchildren. Advertisement
