The Women of Influence Steering Committee has selected Mary Lou Jacoby as the second recipient of the Joan Strewler-Carter Women of Influence award. The Kansas Women’s Business Center hosted the fourth annual Women of Influence event on September 12, 2007. The Women of Influence event celebrates women’s entrepreneurship and raises proceeds to develop entrepreneurial programs for the Kansas Women’s Business Center.
Mary Lou Jacoby has been selected by the Women of Influence
Steering Committee based on her involvement and leadership in several
women’s organizations in our metropolitan community. Her most recent
initiative as a champion of the Million $ Mentoring Program, a
collaborative effort between the Kansas Women’s Business Center and
Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program, affords women entrepreneurs
Although the Kansas Women’s Business Center has been a fortunate recipient of Jacoby’s involvement, several other organizations have benefited as well. Jacoby has served as a long time member and past board member of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Kansas City Chapter.
She is one of the most successful woman entrepreneurs in our region and has won numerous awards personally and for her company, warehouse1.
